Path of the Beast FAQ
What are the main Path of the Beast features?
Path of the Beast transforms the Barbarian's body during Rage. Form of the Beast provides a Bite, Claws, or Tail mode for each Rage, Bestial Soul adds magical attacks and adaptable movement, Infectious Fury turns natural-weapon hits into control or psychic damage, and Call the Hunt empowers the Barbarian alongside nearby allies.
3rd level — Form of the Beast
When you enter Rage, choose Bite, Claws or Tail. The chosen natural weapon lasts for the Rage and counts as a simple melee weapon for you. Each form has a different combat benefit.
6th level — Bestial Soul
Your Form of the Beast natural weapons count as magical for overcoming relevant resistance and immunity. After a short or long rest, choose a movement adaptation such as swimming, climbing or enhanced jumping.
10th level — Infectious Fury
When you hit with a natural weapon while raging, you can force a Wisdom save. On a failure, the target either lashes out at another creature with its reaction or takes a burst of psychic damage, according to your choice. Uses are limited by proficiency bonus.
14th level — Call the Hunt
When you Rage, you can empower a number of willing creatures near you. The feature grants temporary hit points to you and lets the chosen creatures add extra damage to a hit once on each of their turns while your Rage lasts, with limited uses between long rests.
How the features work together
The path is built around choosing the right transformation for the encounter. Claws favor offense, Tail improves reach and defense, and Bite can provide sustain. Bestial Soul solves movement problems, while Infectious Fury and Call the Hunt add higher-level reasons to keep landing natural-weapon hits.
