The Gunslinger progression is built around firearm consistency, critical hits, and increasingly dangerous risk-based maneuvers.

Firearm martial foundation

The class is a dedicated firearm user rather than a normal martial character with optional gun proficiency.

Its weapon system is part of the class package.

Quick-draw features

The class improves initiative and firearm handling through early features.

These reinforce the idea that the Gunslinger reacts quickly and can manage an arsenal.

Critical-hit progression

Critical hits are a central design theme.

The class includes features that make critical hits more important and later increasingly dangerous.

Critical Shot expands the Gunslinger's firearm critical range as the class advances, making critical hits increasingly central to its damage and later feature interactions.

Risk Dice

Risk Dice power special maneuvers.

The die pool and die size improve as the character advances.

Risk Dice begin as a limited pool and improve in both quantity and die size as the Gunslinger advances, so the class can take larger risks more often at higher levels.

Subclass

The Gunslinger chooses one of six subclasses during its progression.

Those subclass features can consume or interact with Risk Dice and can substantially change the class's tactical identity.

Extra Attack

The Gunslinger gains Extra Attack as a martial class.

This supports sustained firearm pressure.

Later firearm features

Higher levels further improve critical hits, survival, or risk-taking.

Those later features continue the same themes: surviving dangerous exchanges, exploiting critical hits, and turning Risk Dice into increasingly decisive moments.

How the features work together

Firearms define the basic action.

Quick-draw features improve tempo.

Critical-hit features reward accuracy.

Risk Dice create tactical decisions.

Extra Attack supplies sustained offense.

The subclass determines the specialist method.
