Path of Genjutsu FAQ
What is the Path of Genjutsu?
The Path of Genjutsu is a control-focused Shinobi Path built around illusion, misdirection and mental pressure. It gains Genjutsu Training, Distorted Perception, Persistent Illusion and World of Illusion, allowing the Shinobi to improve Genjutsu access, interfere with enemy attacks, force rerolls against Genjutsu and eventually trap multiple enemies in a shared illusion.
Core identity
A Genjutsu Shinobi manipulates perception rather than relying only on direct elemental damage. The Path is suited to characters who want control, deception, infiltration and defensive disruption.
Skill support
Genjutsu Training grants Deception or Insight proficiency, or doubles proficiency when you already possess the selected skill, reinforcing both social manipulation and reading opponents.
Technique support
The Path grants two additional Genjutsu Path Techniques at 3rd level. They follow normal rank requirements and do not consume the ordinary techniques-known allowance.
Reaction control
Distorted Perception allows the Shinobi to spend Chakra and a reaction to pressure an enemy attack through a Wisdom save. On a failed save, the attack is made with disadvantage; if it then misses, the Shinobi can reposition.
High-level lockdown
World of Illusion is the Path's major encounter-control feature, potentially charming and incapacitating multiple chosen creatures while concentration is maintained.
