Ascendant Dragon starts by changing the normal Monk play pattern through Draconic Disciple; Breath of the Dragon, giving the subclass its first clear mechanical identity.
Later features such as Wings Unfurled, Aspect of the Wyrm, Ascendant Aspect expand that identity at higher levels, so the subclass has a clearer role in combat, exploration, utility, or support.

Change unarmed damage to an elemental type, gain draconic social or language benefits, and replace attacks with a scaling breath weapon.
